From a Mexican REVOLUCION perspective, the land.. the legacy… the PATRIA comes first. Vicente Guerrero a truly Mexican bad-ass, was a fighter of the independence waaay back in the day. When he was captured and sentenced to death, his dad intervened. He convinced the Mexican dark-side-of-the-force authorities to forgive him by giving Vicente a petty title and government job… in exchange of keeping his mouth shut.
 
But Vicente was not for sale. Just before being executed, he screamed something in the likes of: “Thanks Dad, but as freedom fighter I just can’t betray our independence ideals because,,, THE HOMELAND COMES FIRST!! (“La Patria es Primero”). Boom.. boom.. and he died. You know what didn’t die? His words. Words never die.
